Flavor Tripping

Sounds like drugs, right?

Dave and I went "flavor tripping" with some of our friends back in June, and it was a lot of fun!  You can read a bit about it here.

But first...Ginny:

aww...such a good dog!

These are what the tablets look like (you can eat the Miracle Berries fresh, but since they are imported, we went with freeze dried tablets)
If you dissolve the tablet on your tongue, you should  have between 30 minutes and 90 minutes of flavor tripping.  But we each took 2, just for good measure!

Ok, so here's the deal.  There was a variety of different kinds of foods- salty, sweet, sour, spicy etc.  You sample them all first without the berry (the "control group," if you will), then again after you eat the berry tablet.

 (Megan doesn't like pickles)

 The condiments were interesting...

The verdict?  It was awesome!  The lemons tasted like candy (not sour at all), the hot sauce was also sweet, and the Sour Patch Kids were awesome!  Drinking vinegar was also good...but weird.  It was totally strange to experience how the tablet changes your taste buds.

I'd definitely want to do this again sometime!
