Super Cashword...a loser
Today Dave and I spent some time in Boston, then headed over to Davis Square (see another Davis Square post here). We got some good eats to take home!
I had heard some good things about Kickass Cupcakes, so we decided to check it out.
I had heard some good things about Kickass Cupcakes, so we decided to check it out.
They have a cupcake truck that we've seen around, but never tried any of their cupcakes. Their store was small (with a refrigerator of local dairy!), but they had a good selection:
We decided to buy 4 different flavors, and we were excited to sample them when we got home!
First up, Dave's cupcake- Lemon Meringue Pie: Vanilla cupcake, lemon curd center, topped with meringue.
by the way, the descriptions are taken from here
Dave loved this cupcake! He said the lemon curd center was awesome.
This next cupcake we shared- Coco Kick: White chocolate cupcake and cream cheese frosting dusted with sweet all-natural coconut.
Ehh, not so good. There was a weird citrus-y flavor that we couldn't place.
Here is another one we shared- the Green Monster: Chocolate cupcake, chocolate beer ganache center, Sam Adams Cream Stout green chocolate beer icing garnished with cocoa nibs.
Umm...I took 2 pictures. The frosting in focus above, the tag in focus below. I'm still figuring out the new lens!
This one was okay, nothing special.
This last cupcake was the one I got for myself- Caramel Mochiatto: Chocolate cupcake, caramel center and mocha frosting topped with chocolate covered espresso beans.
Whoops, my finger smudged the frosting before I took the picture
This cupcake was just awesome!! Very rich, but definitely my fave.
Right next to the cupcake place was When Pigs Fly Bakery.
This place smelled awesome! They had a good variety of savory and sweet breads, as well as SAMPLES! (yay!)
We ended up getting one of the breads we tasted in the bakery- Baby Spinach, Onion, and Garlic Ciabatta. Oh man, such an amazing bread!
While there, we saw there was a special deal- with the purchase of a bread, you could get a cinnamon bread pudding cake for only $3. How could we pass that up? I'm not really sure what that is, but it looked good! When we get around to eating it, I'll update this post with a picture and let you know how it is :)
