The "burger donut" you see above is just incredible. This doughnut has made me realize how bad Dunkin' Donuts are! There really is no comparison. They also make a mean meatball sub doughnut, and a cheesesteak doughnut :)
While we're on the subject of doughnuts, I have to mention Lakeside Diner.

Our friend Dave introduced us to them quite a few years ago. They are located in Stamford Connecticut, which is so conveniently on the way from Boston to Long Island! We are in NY now for Christmas and we bought a dozen doughnuts on the drive over, and they were gone before we could even take a picture! They are soft, sweet, fresh, and warm with a generous sugar topping (not powdered sugar! I don't really like powdered sugar). They are excellent!
